Mrs. Lara is a member of the clinical team, serving as a clinical coordinator. Prior to entering medical education, Melissa worked as an urgent care physician assistant in Raleigh, NC. She has a passion for research stemming from time spent assisting in basic science research at UNC Chapel Hill investigating potential therapy targets for clear cell renal cell carcinoma and triple negative breast cancer. In her free time, she enjoys tending to her flower garden and chasing her dogs, Martha and Wilma.
