ECU Physician Assistant Facilities


The Physician Assistant Studies program is located on the beautiful medical campus of East Carolina University and nestled between the Brody School of Medicine and teaching hospital, Vidant Medical Center.

Students and faculty have access to the William E. Laupus Health Sciences Library named for Dr. William E. Laupus, MD a graduate of Yale Medical School, former dean and visionary of what is now the Brody School of Medicine. Laupus Library, providing the pathway to the most up-to-date resources and technology necessary for success in the medical field, is located within the College of Allied Health Sciences.

New Health Sciences Student Center

The state-of-the-art 75,000 square foot Health Sciences Student Center is the first standalone student center on a medical campus in North Carolina as well as one of the few in the United States. This multi-purpose facility houses various student services, activities, and a full-service 25,000 square foot recreation and wellness center. The center serves the students, faculty, staff, and guests of the Health Sciences Campus, bridging community, service, and leadership acrossprograms and campuses. Simulation Center

Our department has partnered with the Office of Simulation and Safety Education to offer our students simulation-based education. Some of the services available to our students in association with their curriculum include:

  • Virtual reality simulators
  • Hands-on procedural skills utilizing task trainers and models
  • Realistic computer-enhanced, life-sized high fidelity patient simulators
  • Simulated patients
